Enjoy a fun-filled day of free activities this summer in Geneva. Here’s our top 10:
Start the day at Bains des Pâquis with the Aubes Musicales, a musical awakening of live performances at sunrise.
Ready to take in the sights? Let one of the volunteers from Geneva Greeters give you an insider’s tour of the city. Or download one of the free audio guides from IZI.travel and visit in your own time. In the old town, stop at Maison Tavel, the oldest private residence in Geneva to view the permanent exhibition illustrating daily life between the 16th and 19th century.
Curious to explore beyond the city center? Then borrow a bike from Geneva Roule and escape to the countryside for a ride through the vineyards and quaint villages. Or use your free public transport card to cruise the lake with the Mouettes Genevoises shuttle boats. If you want to swim or just relax, hop off at Eaux-Vives and head for Baby Plage, a lovely beach of sand, grass and shady trees.
In the evening, Geneva’s summer festival, les Fêtes de Genève, features lots of entertainment along the lakefront, including funfair rides, fireworks and free live music performances. Take a picnic and join the locals in Parc La Grange for Musiques en Ete concerts or end your day at Cine Transat, watching a film under the stars with scenic views of the lake as a backdrop!
